In the Middle of It All
Things are really busy around here right now. We are in the final stages of building our new home, and this season is full of progress, emotions, and anticipation for what’s next. And I’ll be honest… it’s a mix of so many emotions all at once.
There’s excitement—so much excitement. Walking through the house and seeing everything come together, knowing this is about to be home, it feels like a dream we’ve been waiting on for a long time. But right alongside that excitement is a little bit of overwhelm. Because moving… well, it’s a lot. Packing up a whole house, sorting through years of things, deciding what to keep and what to let go—it can feel heavy. And then there’s the actual moving part, which brings its own kind of chaos.

So here we are—somewhere in between joy and “oh my goodness, how are we going to get all this done?” And I have a feeling a lot of you know exactly what that feels like.

The Beauty of “Almost There”
Even with all the busyness, there’s something really sweet about this season. We’re not at the very beginning anymore, where everything feels far away and uncertain. And we’re not quite at the finish line either. We’re in the middle.
Close enough to see it.
Close enough to feel it.
Close enough to know it’s really happening.
And even though there will still be a few smaller things to finish after we move in—trim work, little details here and there—we’ll finally be there. Living in it. Making memories in it. And that changes everything.
A Few Things I’m Learning Along the Way
This season has been stretching, but it’s also been teaching me a few things:
1. You don’t have to do everything at once.
It’s easy to look at everything that needs to be done and feel overwhelmed. But taking it one room, one box, one step at a time makes it manageable.
2. It’s okay to let some things go.
Moving has a way of showing you what really matters. Not everything needs to come with you into the next season.
3. Progress matters more than perfection.
Not everything will be finished the moment you move in—and that’s okay. A home doesn’t come together all at once. It’s built over time.
4. Give yourself grace.
There will be messy days, tired days, and moments where you feel behind. That doesn’t mean you’re failing—it just means you’re human.
Holding It All with Open Hands
In the middle of all this, I’ve found myself going back to a simple truth:
God is in this season, too.
Not just in the finished home.
Not just in the “after.”
But right here—in the packing, the planning, the tired moments, and the in-between.
“Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.”
—Proverbs 16:3
When everything feels like a lot, I’m learning to just bring it back to Him. To trust His timing, His provision, and His peace in the middle of it all. Because this home—it’s more than walls and cabinets and floors.
It’s a place where life will happen.
Where memories will be made.
Where faith will be lived out in the everyday.
Looking Ahead
We are so close.
Close to moving in.
Close to settling in.
Close to stepping into this next chapter.
And even though there’s still work to do, I’m choosing to be thankful for this moment right here—the messy, busy, beautiful middle. Because one day, this will be part of the story we look back on.
A Quiet Prayer
Lord,
Thank You for walking with us through every part of this journey—not just the finished places, but the messy and in-between ones too. Help us not to rush past this season, but to trust You in it. Give us strength for the work ahead, peace in the overwhelm, and joy in the process. Remind us that You are our foundation, no matter where we are.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Lord Bless You, Michelle
