Hello There!
If you’ve been following our journey for very long, you know we’re always looking for ways to be good stewards of what God has given us.
As semi homesteaders, we’ve learned that it’s wise not to rely on just one source of income. Life has a way of changing, and having several streams of income can provide both stability and opportunities to use the gifts God has blessed us with. We aren’t chasing riches—we’re simply trying to be faithful with what He’s placed in our hands.
One of our newest adventures is something I am so excited to share with you.
I recently opened Booth #89 at Sassy Kats in Selmer, Tennessee, and I have absolutely loved every minute of it.
If I’m being honest, though, this didn’t really begin with Booth #89.
It started years ago with someone very special.

My Nanny.

She was one of my favorite people in the whole world, and she absolutely loved yard sales. We couldn’t drive past one without stopping. Back then, I didn’t realize it, but the stops spent digging through boxes and looking for hidden treasures were planting something in my own heart.
Before long, I fell in love with thrifting too.
As I got older, that love grew into crafting, painting, decorating, and repurposing old things. I’ve always enjoyed taking something that someone else has overlooked, discarded, or simply grown tired of and giving it another chance.
Maybe it needs a fresh coat of paint.
Maybe it just needs a little cleaning.
Maybe it needs someone willing to see what it could become instead of only seeing what it is today.
There is just something deeply satisfying about taking something old and making it beautiful again.
The more I’ve thought about it, the more I’ve realized that’s probably why I love it so much.
It reminds me of Jesus.
Isn’t that exactly what He has done for each one of us?
He takes broken hearts and restores them.
He takes lives marked by failure and covers them with grace.
He takes what the world considers worthless and gives it purpose.
He doesn’t see us as we were.
He sees who we can become through Him.
“Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
—2 Corinthians 5:17

I’m so thankful that God is in the business of restoration.
Every time I paint an old piece of furniture, rescue something from a thrift store, or bring new life to something that looked like it belonged in the trash, I’m reminded of His mercy toward me.
He’s done the very same thing in my life.
Maybe that’s why this little booth means more to me than simply selling things.
It’s a place where I get to be creative.
It’s another way to help support our homestead.
It’s an opportunity to meet new people.
And honestly… it’s just plain fun.

You’ll find a little bit of everything in Booth #89.
Thrifted treasures.
Home décor.
Seasonal decorations.
Homemade sourdough breads and cookies.
And whatever creative project I’ve been working on that week.
It’s always changing because that’s simply who I am—I love creating.
Since you’re part of our Semi Homesteaders family, I wanted to invite you into this part of our life too.
From time to time, I’ll share pictures of new finds, projects I’m working on, and items I’ve added to the booth. It may look a little different from our recipes, homestead projects, or Barndominium updates, but it’s still part of our journey.
And I hope you’ll enjoy coming along with us.
Most of all, I’d like to ask you to pray.
Pray that God blesses this little venture according to His perfect will.
Pray for the owners of Sassy Kats, for every vendor who has invested their time and talents into their booths, and for every person who walks through those doors.
I pray this little business becomes more than just a place to shop. I pray it’s a place filled with kindness, encouragement, and people who genuinely care about one another.
God has been so faithful to us through every season of our lives, and I have no doubt He’ll be faithful in this one too.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
Thank you for cheering us on.
Thank you for praying for us.
Whether you’re here for the homesteading, the recipes, the barn-dominium updates, or now a little thrifting and repurposing, I’m grateful you’ve chosen to walk alongside us.
And who knows…
Maybe every old treasure we rescue can serve as a reminder that none of us are beyond the reach of God’s restoring hand.
“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…”
—Joel 2:25
What a beautiful promise.
Because our greatest restoration will never come from a paintbrush, a thrift store, or a makeover.
It comes from our Saviour!
Lord Bless You, Michelle
Closing Prayer
Lord,
Thank you for the gifts you’ve placed in each of us and for the opportunities to use them for your glory. Thank you for the people who have shaped our lives, like my precious Nanny, whose love for simple things planted seeds that continue to grow even today.
Lord, I pray you would bless this new adventure at Booth #89. Bless the owners of Sassy Kats, every vendor, and every customer who walks through the doors. May it be more than just a place to buy and sell. Let it be a place where kindness is shown, friendships are made, and Your light shines through the way we treat one another.
Help us to be faithful stewards of all you’ve entrusted to us. Remind us that just as we enjoy restoring old treasures, you are always at work restoring hearts. Thank You for taking our broken places and making something beautiful out of them.
May everything we do, whether in our home, on our homestead, in our booth, or here in this community, point others back to you.
In Jesus’ precious name,
Amen
