A Big little Change in My EDC

Hey Folks!  I did a video AND wrote an associated blog post a while back about my EDC. I wanted to update you on something that has changed.

After years of carrying the Dango A10 wallet, I have made a recent change (since Christmas) and wanted to share my experience.

I didn’t want to throw it out here right off the bat until I had a chance to actually carry and use this item to make certain it was something I could speak to (either good or bad).

First I want to say that I was very happy with the Dango A10 wallet. In fact, I carried it for at least 6 years (I think maybe more). My only ‘gripe’ was the amount of cards it would hold (or NOT hold).

The issue is… I have a lot of cards.

Drivers license.

Personal Debit card.

Personal Credit card.

LLC Debit Card.

Work Credit Card.

Work Gas Card.

Military ID.

SAMS Card.

Insurance Card.

… and more…

The Dango A10 by itself holds about 3 or 4 cards. Not nearly enough.

So I tried the ‘Single Pocket Adapter’ which slides onto the A10 rail and holds an additional 4 cards. Still not enough.

Then I tried the ‘Bifold Pocket Adapter’ which holds up to 9 more cards. Plenty!

…but… the beauty of the A10 is the slim size. For me, the bifold adapter took this away and made the A10 bulky, too bulky for everyday carry. It looked like I had a small Webster’s Dictionary in my front pocket.

I went back to just the A10 with the ‘Pull Pocket Adapter’.

I carried it this way for a long time but of course that didn’t hold enough cards so I put the main ones I use most often in it and the remaining cards I put in my back pocket in my ‘Viperade Pouch’.

I went on like this for some time until Christmas 2025. I had been eyeing the ‘Proof’ wallet. A wallet designed and sold by a veteran owned company. Being a veteran myself, I tend to like that.

I kinda wanted one.

My sweet wife got me one.

I’ve been using it since Christmas. It is now February 17th, as I write this. Almost 2 months and I have to say I’m glad I made the switch. It holds all the cards I need to carry, yet stays slim. The cards are easy to access and it has a money clip (band) for carrying a little cash.

It has a lifetime guarentee but I really don’t foresee ever needing it… you never know.

I got the classic leather and metal model but several style/colors are available. I also like the olive drab nylon model but I’ll stay with the classic leather.

So far that’s about all that has changed in my EDC since this video and this blog post.

Do you carry a minimalist wallet? What kind and why do you like it?
